About Us

The Paper Planes Journal is a web magazine and print publication dedicated to sharp, original, and culturally expansive storytelling. As part of the Antonym Council Of Global Arts And Literature, we carry forward a shared commitment to literary translation and cross-cultural exchange—while building our own space for thought, discovery, and creative experimentation.

We publish works that travel freely across borders: literature, nonfiction, reportage, essays, poetry, criticism, sci-fi, fantasy, thrillers, visual narratives, and children’s storytelling. Our goal is straightforward: to offer readers a place where global voices can meet, challenge each other, and remain in conversation.

Translation is not secondary to this mission—it is foundational. Without translation, no global literary dialogue can exist. We recognise the rigor and imagination required to carry a text from one linguistic world to another, and we honour the transformative power of that craft. As languages move through one another, they expand, alter, and deepen; our pages are a record of that exchange.

We champion writings that stay relevant beyond geography or language—works that shift how we think, how we read, and how we understand the world. Across our digital platform and our print editions, we bring together authors, translators, and readers who value literature’s ability to cross thresholds.

We welcome submissions of translated fiction, nonfiction, poetry, genre-bending work, and literary experiments from all languages. Every translation begins a conversation; every conversation opens a new path. The Paper Planes Journal exists to follow those paths—boldly, thoughtfully, and with purpose.
