The Paper Planes Club had an engaging day with students at the school on 3rd November, 2025.

Science-Fiction Workshop

Soham Guha carried out a 1.5-hour workshop on writing science-fiction with students from class 7. In this workshop, students learnt about the main elements of the genre in questions, explored real-world and fictional examples, and discussed ways to improve their conceptualisation of the genre.

Zine-Workshop

Chirayata Chakrabarty conducted a two 1.5 hour zine-making workshops, with students from classes 5, 6, 7 and 8, where students brought rudimentary art supplies like paper and colours, and made creative zines (little magazines) with us. They were taught two types of folds of zines. This was a brilliant outlet for children to creatively express their thoughts and opinions on things that are important to them.

Magazine preview

Subarna Banerjee, The Paper Planes Journal’s associate Editor, carried out an ARC Preview, where pages from the first issue of the Paper Plane Journal, were shown to students from various classes. Detailed feedback was acquired from them on the layout, design and contents of the magazine, which will be considered for future issues.

All students were given certificates of participation for all the workshops they participated in.
