Karishma Kanan was 5 years old, when she moved in with her aunt, Alia Gupta, and her husband, Aayush Gupta. Karishma lived with them in a huge mansion on a hill, next to the Indian Ocean. They lived in Goa, India. Karishma had no idea that her parents had died on a secret mission … The only thing she knew was that her parents died in a plane crash on their way to Chile, located in South America. She went through many relatives and her parents’ friends. She got a clue on each of her birthdays until she was 18, that was when she got the last piece of the huge puzzle, a puzzle to find out what happened to her parents.
Karishma locked herself in her room on 18th February, 1986, as soon as she got the last piece of the puzzle. Karishma put all of them together, and gasped at what she had discovered. She found out that her parents, Mrs. and Mr. Kanan, were spies for an Indian government association一ISA. They had left clues for her all over the world, starting from Antarctica, to find out what really happened to them.
The ISA was a huge association, in which only the most superior people were allowed to work in. She told her aunt that she was going to Antarctica. She grabbed the 1 a.m. flight to Ushuaia, Argentina. Ushuaia is the capital of Tierra del Fuego, Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur Province. She stayed in a small house, at the end of the city, with a tree and a backyard, for two days. Then she grabbed a boat with the boatman at the bottom of the hill. It was a blue and white steam-engine boat. She propelled the boat all the way to the south-west tip of Antarctica. Antarctica is called a dry desert. A few of India’s scientists have their stations up there to study about the animals and the weather there. She had to go up, but there was only a rope in the boat which could get her there. She started thinking, and got an idea. She used an ice rock to tie the rope, and took the anchor of the boat out, and tied it on the other end of the boat. She then threw it onto the closest hill, and after a few tries she finally got it, and started climbing. She did the same for all the other hills, until she reached the top most point of Antarctica . She took a deep breath and soaked the moment up. There was a chilly breeze brushing past her, and the sounds of the animals, and the coldness of ice, was a moment that was surely memorable forever. She looked down in a rush, realizing she was on a mission, and saw her grandfather, Mr. Kanan, there. She screeched so much that her voice became hoarse. Her grandfather noticed her after a few minutes, and was shocked to see her all the way up there. He sent a group of agents to go get her. They took her to a huge, white, marble mansion in the north-east part of Antarctica. They gave her a cup of hot chocolate, and a thick, warm blanket. She asked her grandfather if this is the ISA official building, and he said, “yes, in fact, it is…How do you know this, Karishma?” Karishma said, “I solved the puzzle my parents gave to my aunt when I was young, and found all about the ISA.” Her grandfather asked her how she had managed to get up there without any tools! As soon as he heard what she had done, he was impressed, and recruited her as a junior agent along with Maria, Elizabeth, and Samaya. She showed her grandfather all the clues, and he told her that they were also trying to find out what happened to her parents in Chile. He thought that the ASA (An American government association) had taken them, or hidden them somewhere in the deep, hollow caves of the Buenos mountains. The four of them were sent to Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, to investigate the area for any clues or ISA tools.
Elizabeth and Samaya were jealous of Karishma, as she got to skip all the training and just be recruited as a junior spy, whereas they had to go through 4 years of training! Elizabeth was the group leader, as she had gone on several missions before them, and had completed them. They were sent a private helicopter, in which each of them had a jet pack to wear, as they had to jump off the helicopter in various places. It was an electronic helicopter which had not been charged, so they had to be fast, and the jetpacks were also not charged. Throughout the ride, they were explained what they had to get. They were supposed to find a silver medallion. They all jumped early, beside the border, and landed a bit further than they were supposed to, but they managed to travel all the way there as soon as they reached the border. The helicopter was hovering above them, and landed next to them. They climbed for hours and hours, until they finally reached Buenos Aires. Karishma said “Here, I think I see the bag packs sent for us”. After wearing the bags, they boarded the plane, which was only at 5 PERCENT CHARGE! They tried to land as close to the main part of the city as they could. Just before they had to jump, Maria screamed “Guys, our jetpacks are at 2 percent only!”.
They all turned to Maria, and said, “WHAT?”. They soon calmed down, wore their jetpacks, and jumped, as the opening between Buenos Aires and Chile were closing in, so they had no time to think. They had to just spring into action. As soon as Karishma jumped, she found out that her battery was at 1 percent only. She calmed herself down, and let go of her anxiety. She put all her focus on landing right in the middle… And she did land right in the middle!
Karisma was covered in dust and sand. Even her friends were covered with sand and dust. Elizabeth said that the silver medallion was to be found in a small cave at the bottom of the sea. Maria and Karishma exchanged scared looks. Elizabeth and Samaya were best friends. They did everything together. They went swimming together, they also went to classes and tuitions together. They had to go undercover and break into the ASA’s base, and steal the silver medallion, which belonged to Mr. and Mrs. Kanan. Elizabeth asked Karishma, “Have your parents told you anything about the silver medallion?”
Karishma said “No, they died when I was five”.
Elizabeth said, “Oh, I am so sorry. I had no idea.”
Karishma said” it’s ok.”
Elizabeth said, “The silver medallion is the 2nd most dangerous ISA tool. It is made to wipe out any information, and an entire association within 24 hours.” They all gasped.
Soon, they were taken to their room. The rooms were small, white and traditional. There were only two rooms, but four people, so they had to share. Elizabeth and Samaya were obviously sharing a room, so that left Maria and Karishma. They had no problem. They quickly unpacked their bags, took their laptops out and started hacking, to find out where the ASA hid their official base. Karishma uncovered where it was located and how to get in there. They quickly jumped into their spy suits, and kept their tools in their bag, and wore their anti-gravity shoes. They boarded their helicopter, and flew all the way to Vienna, Austria.
