Surabhi Gupta
I am someone who feels deeply and creates passionately, whether through words, art, or frosting. A Humanities student with an eye for beauty and a heart full of dreams, I find comfort in creativity and meaning in connection. I believe every failure adds flavour to growth, and that sincerity, paired with a dash of self-irony, makes the journey worthwhile and takes you far.
Sanskriti Purohit
I am Sanskriti Purohit, a student of class XII, Humanities, who believes that life’s essence is hidden not in grand gestures but in the quiet, ordinary moments we often overlook. Like the fish searching for the ocean while already swimming in it, I remind myself to be grateful for the “water” around me, the small joys, the fleeting laughter, the simple kindness of people. I love exploring, not just the world outside but also the world within. My philosophy is simple yet profound: to build a life I do not need an escape from.
Aaratrika Singh Bora
Araatrika Singh Bora is a student of class VIII. She has chosen to review KPDH, but her favourite movie, which she has been watching on a loop, is Pride and Prejudice, starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen. When she is neither watching the movie nor picking up its tunes to play on the piano, she practises Maths, takes her dog Bilbo for walks, reads books, ignores her sister and chats with her friends.
Ahon Datta
Ahon Datta is an animal lover, a reader, a football player, and a coder. Travelling for him means trying out local cuisine. taking long walks and clicking photos of monuments and local fauna. He wrote this poem when he visited Madhai as an eleven-year-old. Madhai is a forest reserve on the banks of the river Denwa in Madhya Pradesh.
Vedadit Sinha
Vedadit Sinha is an 11-year-old with a vivid imagination. He reads widely in fiction and nonfiction, continuing to explore genres to identify his preferences. Sketching and doodling are also his cherished pursuits.
He enjoys performing, either on stage or in private reflection. He is also keen on film-making and regularly composes scripts and directs friends in the roles, capturing and editing on his iPad. He has a special penchant for Lego and challenges himself with complex creations.
Singing suits him naturally, complemented by his emerging guitar skills. Animals hold particular appeal, especially strays; his two indies, Blackberry and Gojiberry, provide daily joy through affectionate interactions. Supported by his parents, Vedadit has visited 11 countries across three continents, preparing for each journey through dedicated reading and research and journalling his travel experiences.
Ultimately, he values pursuing enjoyment, constructing innovative concepts, and aspiring boldly.
Aishani Mukherjee
I am Aishani Mukherjee and I study in class 8 at The Heritage School, Kolkata. I have visited many hillstations in Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh which inspired me to capture the quiet beauty of nature—the way rivers carve their paths through valleys, how snow-capped mountains stand timeless against the sky, and how even the smallest wildflowers add life to a scene. Through this painting, I have tried to express nature in my own way. I chose acrylics as the medium for this painting because it allows me to layer vibrant colors quickly and capture both the depth of the mountains and the freshness of the greenery. While I enjoy painting with acrylics, I also love using oils for their richness and blending, as well as pastels for their softness.
I’m most drawn to painting nature, because it lets me paint freely and endlessly without any particular measurements as required in portraits and architectural sketches. Moreover, there is a certain joy in painting trees, skies, or streams each with its own characteristics, that allow me to slow down and notice details that often go unseen. Overall, painting is more than just a hobby for me—it’s a way of expressing how I see the world.
